Privacy

This is a reference publication. It carries no advertising, sells nothing, and does not sell or share personal information with anyone. The only measurement on the site is Google Analytics, configured for readership statistics alone.

What is collected

Google Analytics 4 records page views, approximate location at city level, browser and device type, and how visitors arrive. Google advertising signals and cross-site personalization are switched off in the configuration. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4. Nothing collected here identifies you by name, and no data is combined with outside sources.

Consent, by region

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, analytics is off until you accept it. The consent banner sets your choice, and analytics stays denied if you decline or simply ignore it. Everywhere else, analytics runs by default under a notice-and-opt-out model, and declining stops measurement and deletes the analytics cookies this site has set. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it is honored automatically as a decline, everywhere, without you needing to touch the banner.

Your choice is remembered for twelve months in your browser. You can change it at any time through the Privacy choices link in the footer of every page.

Cookies and local storage

With analytics accepted, Google sets the _ga cookie family to distinguish returning visitors; these expire after about thirteen months and are removed immediately if you later decline. The site itself stores two small entries in your browser: air_consent_v1, which records your consent choice, and air_news_v1, which caches the live news headlines for six hours so they are not refetched on every visit. Both are functional, not tracking.

The live headlines

The news strips on the homepage, the news page, and each jurisdiction page fetch recent headlines from Google News through a public relay when the page loads. That request carries the ordinary technical information any web request carries and nothing more. It sets no cookies and is not tied to the analytics above.

Retention and contact

Analytics data is retained for fourteen months and then deleted. Questions, corrections, or privacy requests go through the contact page; submissions are reviewed directly. This page changes when the practices change, and the effective date above moves with it.
